Introduction: Why Video Marketing Chose Me
Lying in a hospital bed after 3 failed epidural shots into my spine and
cringing in pain while on the most powerful drugs available I made a life
changing decision that I will never forget.
I was going to become a full-time Internet Marketer and do it using Video.
With all of the ways to make money online with PPC, CPA, Post Cards,
Continuity Programs, Affiliate Marketing, Social Media Marketing, etc etc...
why did I choose Video Marketing as my main focus?
To be honest...it Chose Me!
See, I didn't help generate over $1MM in sales and commissions over the
past 16 months because I was an expert in any field. I was able to generate
ridiculous amounts of revenue because I stuck with what I knew.
Being a fighter pilot!
What? Being a fighter pilot made me the expert in Video Marketing? Well,
Kinda.
See, I never intended to become a marketer, an Internet Marketer, or even
the creator of Quick Video Marketing, just 24 short months ago. I was used
to 12+ hr days flying one of the greatest fighter jets ever made, and
teaching new fledgeling wingman how to employ a $30 million dollar, single
engine, single seat, day/night all weather capable, armed to the teeth
fighter, without killing me or themselves.

2
I was living the life of a rock star, and loved every hour I sat in the jet. As an
Instructor we had just over 6 months to take a complete newbie, turn on the
fire hose of learning, and kick a combat capable wingman to our brethren in
the combat arena.
That seems like a pretty tall order, right? Well it is...but with a proven
system in place, along with focus and determination we got the job done.
And that's exactly what I did when I started using video to make money
online. I found and tweaked proven systems, and tested hundreds of
different videos across multiple niches, and can say I have found what works
the majority of the time... and what will easily work for you.
I easily could have taken proven systems in PPC, CPA, Copywriting, etc and
used them, but to keep myself occupied and entertained I enjoyed the
challenge of video. As a beginner I started with little capital or knowledge.
As a matter of fact, I had been on YouTube a total of about 5 times prior to
beginning my Marketing career.
In the following pages I'll show you some of my exact techniques, scripts,
and methods I follow. Plus I'll give you some proof how video has worked in
recent product launched, in and out of the "Make Money" niche.
If you want to read the full story of how I worked my way through the ranks
of Internet Marketing, and how I basically took my career vertical, I'll add it
to the post content portion of this report.
Now onto the good stuff.

The Magic Formula to Sales Page Videos
If you place an effective sales video on your website or sales page the
majority of the time it will convert higher than if you don't. Just look at the
example pages at the end of this report.
Here are just a few types of video examples:
•
Infomercial - Think Sham Wow and Snuggie
•
QVC review
•
Direct Sales Pitch
•
Parody Video
•
Product Review Video
•
Product Description/Features Video
Decades of TV infomercials and billions of dollars in sales are further proof.
More recently, just take a look at YouTube and what is has done for the
internet marketing.
Sales Page and Marketing Videos should be between 30 seconds and 2
minutes, with an absolute maximum of 4. Why? Most viewers want to get in,
get out, and move onto the next video. You have to catch and keep their
attention span before they find the next shiny object on the internet.
They know you're selling them something and they are looking for a reason
to leave. This is not a captive audience.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
4
When you make a Quick Video Marketing video for your sales page or blog,
and it is not a content (learning) based video keep it short and try using the
A-I-D-A or "AIDA" method.
That's Attention, Interest, Desire, Action (selling)
Another way to put it is Problem - Agitate - Solution. This is where you
mention the problem, agitate it by telling a story that will be similar to what
the viewer is experiencing, and provide them with the solution. The solution
being you, your service, or your product.
Module 2 in our Quick Video Marketing course will help you write your
script. I've also included a small script creator in this report for you to print
out and use today in your next video.
Some of the best commercials are "Ad hoc" in nature - if you look at the old
Joe Sugarman "BluBlocker" sunglasses commercials, they're product
demonstrations with "man on the street" reaction shots. They include lots of
people having fun and reacting with genuine surprise and integrity, so you
don't think for a moment you are being lied to.
I met Joe back in October of 2008 at the Four Seasons in Maui, and he's still
got it. A true master of his craft and copywriting, he is the pinnacle of how
to create a massively successful advertising campaign/infomercial using
direct marketing and merging that with video.
The bottom line is this: If you can integrate product or service
demonstrations, before and after proof, and testimonials quickly, you'll get
sales. Just remember to do it congruently and with integrity.

Module 2 of the Quick Video Marketing course will even show you how you
don't even need to be in front of a camera to accomplish all of this. Sound
easy? That's because it is. :)
Quick Example
If you go to our blog you'll see some recent posts on a Video Launch we ran
in March of 2009 for a forex product. The past two launches of this product
have brought in six figures each and every time the product was released.
Over a 30 day period we released several videos, and since I was the
director, editor, and post production manager you get the uncut insider's look
to how we scripted and executed a product release using videos.

You Tube Video Optimization Tips
Here are some techniques and strategies that you can employ right now to
increase the overall optimization of your YouTube videos, as well as some
tricks to edit the embedded features when hosting your videos outside of
YouTube.
Let's focus on a few ways to optimize YouTube tags, (or any social media
tags for that matter). In the spirit of melding old fashioned and new school
SEO, and the strategy of meeting the unmet needs of your audience here
are 7 ways to optimize YouTube video tags.
Note: I have no idea how YouTube selects the order of their search results in
relation to relevance. Sometimes I don't even see exact keyword/tag
matches fill the first page of results, but there are exact tag matches on
subsequent pages.
I've done a bit of reverse engineering, spent hours scouring the internet
and I see no defining rhyme or reason relating to how the title, tags, views
and rating data influence results. So for the moment here's what I've got:
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
14
1. Make sure your tags are relevant to your content. Seems obvious
but this takes some thought to get into the minds of users similar to
keyword discovery.
2. The more tags the merrier. I see no penalty for using all your available
tag space. I normally teach 6-7 Max, and that seems to work just fine.
3. Spread your tags out among your clips. Adding more tags can help
snag some long tail keywords.
4. Use adjectives. Remember lots of folks are browsing, and they'll use
adjectives to find what they are in the mood to view.
5. Have some category descriptor tags. It's important to remember
YouTube's default search settings are Videos, Relevance, and All Categories.
6. Match your title and description with your most important tags.
Basic SEO practice applies here as well.
7. Don't use natural language phrases and waste tag space on words like
"and" or "to."
8. Name the File Correctly . This is perhaps THE most overlooked SEO
mistake. By uploading file003.wmv versus QuickVideoMarketing.wmv you
are actually hurting your overall SEO. Rename the file before you upload it to
YouTube.

Let's take a quick look at some basics when leveraging the YT results filters:
Date Added - make sure your clips are not too long. We teach 30 seconds
for a quick Ad, and around 2 minutes for a non-content video. Keep them
short enough so that you ensure frequent posting on the same tags to keep
attracting views. This will also help keep you on the first page of Google.
Views - It's important to leverage the social nature of YouTube to help
maximize views. Ideally you want to get on user subscription lists, as well as
get exposure on favorites. More views appear to have more authority, but
that isn't always the case. Don't have your account shut down by using view
increasing software. I'll take 1000 views at a Viewer Value of $1, than a
video with 100,000 fake views and a average viewer value of .001 cents.
Rating - Quality matters, though the rating system is difficult. So many
videos with similar star ratings appear, so it's somewhat pointless to
optimize for maximum rating.
Tags are only part of optimizing within YouTube. Keep in mind the influence
that your title has in attracting CTR(Click Through Rate). You need to pull
every lever to build an audience. The social nature of YT requires getting on
user's subscriptions and favorites. Again, it all gets down to quality. This is
what inherently what makes YouTube great. You build attention by being
incredibly interesting or providing overwhelming value..
If your video is primarily marketing, like most of us in Quick Video
Marketing, focus mainly on the Title and Description Keywords to greatly
increase your chances of ranking high in Google. If your video is more of a
viral nature, the tags become increasingly important.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
16
There truly are some incredible videos on YouTube…and with new ones
coming all the time, getting your video seen will become more difficult... and
at the same time more valuable. I apply the same strategies within Modules
1 and 2 for web pages AND my videos.
URL Tricks
Normal YouTube URL for embedding a video:
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value=" http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEO_ID "></
param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param>
<embed src=" http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEO_ID " type="application/x-
shockwave-flash"
wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed>
</object>
Autoplaying your video:
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value=" http://www.youtube.com/v/
VIDEO_ID &autoplay=1
"></param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param>
<embed src=" http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEO_ID &autoplay=1
"
type="application/x-
shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></
embed>
</object>

17
Removing related videos from the flash player
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value=" http://www.youtube.com/v/
VIDEO_ID &rel=0 "></param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param>
<embed src=" http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEO_ID &rel=0 "
type="application/x-shockwave-
flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed>
</object>
NEW FEATURE!
It's not a big new feature but it's certainly one that will come in handy:
YouTube will now allow you to send users to a specific point in a video by
appending a short tag to the end of a video's URL. It's pretty surprising that
this functionality wasn't available earlier, as Google Video introduced the
same feature over two years ago.
To specify a point, append a tag to the end of your video link with the
following syntax: "#t=1m05s" (you can change the numbers before the 'm'
and 's' to edit the minutes and seconds, respectively.
Here's an example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aTkvjxGFQQ#t=1m05s
Quick Tip- Here's just One Way to benefit from this new feature. If you have
purchased someone else's YouTube account, or are "borrowing" a video to
embed on your page, you can quickly jump a new viewer to the meat of the
video, or past the owner's URL at the beginning.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
18
Now that you have your video uploaded and optimized, it's time to work on
your landing page. Embed your video on your landing page, and use these
rules for optimizing your video landing page.
7 Rules for Landing Page Optimization
There are more than seven rules but these are important ones, especially for
those just starting out, or as a reminder to not lose sight of the basics. For
additional insight, I would direct you to the Bonus Video with Matt Trainer in
the Members area. However, these seven basic elements are ones I've used
consistently with great results.
1. Have a Clear and Direct Headline
Your landing pages should designed so the headline is first thing a user sees
upon landing. First impressions on landing pages are as important as they
are in the offline media world. Think of the best selling products or
periodicals available. They all have catchy jingles, headlines, or statements,
that peek your interest to remember, or instantly buy a product.
While most people believe that the Enquirer, and other tabloid magazines
don't run actual stories, they are still in circulation because of the Headlines.
They pull a shopper into the " I want to know more" mindset, to invoke a
purchase.
When writing a webpage headline, make sure it's a direct and simple
statement of what the user is trying to accomplish. I like to use relevant yet
controversial statements, something that will "stick", or leave something
"unanswered" in the reader's mind.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
19
The goal of the headline is to bridge the moment of recognition, so the user
understands that the rest of the page content is aligned with completing
their goal/desire.
2. Place High Value on Whitespace
Users do not read all the text on a web page. Users scan the text, and take
away only certain elements that they use to make a decision, if the page is
relevant to their goal or not. Clean use of space allows users to scan and
absorb key messages.
This puts additional Emphasis on where to pull your reader back into the
message, with key phrases and images throughout. The message needs to
be congruent with the images, flow, and videos throughout.
3. Deliver Your Value Proposition with Short Direct Messaging
Your value props should all be the answers to "why?" Keep them limited to
three or four bullet points and don't mince words. This is no time to get cute
either.
If users can't quickly and easily understand the benefits of your product or
service, they will not hesitate to click away from your page. Think of your
own personal browsing across someone else's offer, and what would keep
you on a page.
4. Have a Persuasive Message Directly Above the Call to Action
Every great salesman has a message they use to persuade prospects on the
fence. Think of your landing page as your online salesman. Make sure you
have one final strong persuasive message above the call to action.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
20
Bandwagon messages can increase user confidence, and usually perform
very well. An example: "Join the thousands of people that use…" This is also
a great location to place one of your stronger proof elements, further
cementing the tie between your product and the end result.
5. Buttons Rule
Orange buttons can by themselves raise your conversion rate. Now don't go
out and buy Solar Orange buttons. The best conversions have recently been
coming from the PayPal Orange button. Green and Red can be good as well,
but most times in our testing if color matters it is PayPal Orange that wins.
Also, don't skimp on button size. Make users notice where the button
is upon landing. Location matters as well, but that's something that needs to
be tested on each page.
6. Call to Action Copy Matters
While direct messages can be very effective in the body of the copy, direct
messages in the call to action can be a turnoff. Words like "Buy," or
"Subscribe" can actually have lower conversion rates. The highest converting
purchase button is currently the orange button with "Add to Cart" as the
CTA. Softer calls to action like "Try it Now" that message immediacy (Now),
but in a risk free way (Try it) can end up improving conversion by getting
more users into the funnel as well, depending on your offer.
7. Trust and Security are Still Incredibly Persuasive
Brand, trust, and security icons, as well as testimonials deliver confidence
messages that can have a tremendous, impact on conversion. Despite the
fact that we are about 10 years into the commercial web, users on even the
largest sites in the world are still influenced by these messages and images.
Additionally, a smaller window picturing the next step or order page in a
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
21
small table off to the side, will create familiarity with the purchase page and
help increase conversions.
My Childhood Dream Continued...
As you can see I was living my childhood dream flying F-16's. I started
asking to fly at the early age of about 7 or so. My parents were hesitant, but
promised that if I still wanted to start flying when I turned 17, I could. This
was Huge! We were OK financially, but flying isn't cheap.
So ever since I was 7 I lived my life to attain my one goal - Fly Fighter jets. I
studied, worked hard in High School, and when I turned 17 started flying. I
absolutely LOVED it. I somehow balanced advanced classes, Running Track,
a part time grocery store job, and flying in my schedule.
When it was time to pick a college, I found only two I wanted to attend.
1. The U.S. Air Force Academy
2. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University
I chose ERAU for 2, OK maybe 3 reasons.
1. I received a full scholarship
2. I wanted to stay on the East Coast
3. Three Months of Spring Break every year, plus the beach
So I started out as an Engineering Major, and hated life for 1 full year of
college. When I originally started I wanted to fly, but the Air Force wasn't
offering Aeronautical Science scholarships, so I was forced into engineering
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
22
while all 3 of my roommates went to fly every afternoon, while I was sitting
home doing Calculus 3 and Physics.
After my Freshman year, I went and spoke to my advisors, changed my
major, and GAVE BACK a FULL RIDE to college to pursue my dream. My
parents probably thought I was nuts, but I had a dream and I was going to
ensure I reached it.
2 years later, with who knows how many thousands of dollars in student
loans, a bit of timing, some hard work, and a lot of luck, I was selected as a
pilot candidate and was going to Under Graduate Pilot Training (UPT) when I
graduated from college.
One Step closer to my dream...
After Graduation I traveled all the way from Daytona Beach, FL to Pensacola
FL to start my military aviation career. While in school, I racked up a few
hundred hours of flying time, plus my private, instrument, and commercial
pilot's licenses, and could just taste becoming a fighter pilot.
There isn't an Air Force base in Pensacola Florida. I was one of the few to
cross train and start my military career in a pilot exchange program with the
U.S. Navy. That was some of the most fun I had as a student pilot.
With the nice weather, good golf courses, and plenty of distractions, I had to
really push myself to focus and study. Just because I was a rated pilot, didn't
guarantee me anything. 8 Months later.....Track selection.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
23
In the Air Force the best don't always go to fighters. As a matter of fact, I
have some friends that did extremely well, but are flying tankers today. More
on that in a second...
Overall, they tend to spread the wealth, and even as the "top stick" you
aren't guaranteed squat. So I had done my part, put in months of studying,
memorizing, and chair flying, to rank at the top of my class.
With a ton of hard work, some good timing and luck, I was track selected as
a fighter pilot. One Step Closer.
A Fighter Pilot was Born
So you'd think it was time to relax right? Exactly the opposite happened. I
was shipped back to the Air Force, and stuck in the middle of Oklahoma for 6
more months to fly T-38 jets, and learn from fighter pilots. We worked
EXACTLY 12 hours a day, the legal limit allowed, 5 days a week, and studied
every other waking moment. I'm 100% positive this was a haze of sorts, and
we would have been there 18 hours a day if the legal rest requirements
weren't 12 hours.
I can't lie to you, I hated this phase of pilot training. I was used to being
responsible for my actions, studying outside at 3 pm when I wasn't flying,
and I've always had a problem with authority. Being forced to sit in a flight
room with no peace and quiet, and getting to work at 5 am for my 1pm
flight, seemed ludicrous, but I was the student, so I complied.
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
24
6 months of my own personal hell finally paid off. Our selection night was a
good one. Out of my class, almost all of us were selected to fly a fighter. I
was lucky enough to be chosen to fly the F-16.
As a future Viper pilot, I had a short stint in Basic Fighter training, then it
was off to Phoenix, AZ to live my dream.
Living the Dream
I can remember the majority of my
time in FTU, Fighter Training, like it
was just a few months ago. I was
living my childhood dream.
Mission Accomplished!
I whizzed through the pre-requirements to sandbag, fly in the backseat of a
2 seater with an Instructor upfront, well before we could even be scheduled
for a front seat ride.
My first flight was with Capt Mike "Doogie" Dugan, I remember it like it was
yesterday, and always will. It was a non-student, continuity training mission,
with the jet loaded in an Air-Ground attack configuration. We had 2 gas
tanks on the wings, 6 - 27 lb BDU-33 training bombs on the left wing and a
Maverick Air-Ground missile on the right, plus 100 rounds of PGU-27 in the
gun.
I was in awe....

To be honest, other than pulling the handle to eject, I couldn't remember
much else I could do if something went wrong.
As we pulled onto the runway and Doogie plugged in the afterburner, the
earth rumbled. The loudest noise I'd ever heard, was tied directly to one of
the biggest adrenaline rushes I'd have ever had...and it wasn't the last of
the day.
We went south of Phoenix to our assigned restricted airspace range, and
Doogie let me do some flying on the way to the ranges. I had spent my
entire career flying basic center stick and yoke aircraft until that very
moment.
See, the F-16 is built with an extremely small
and snug fitting cockpit, a canopy that
provides the most beautiful view of the earth
below, and a side stick the moves all of 1/4 of
an inch total.
That's right, basically you think where you want to go, and the jet takes you
there. You barely have to move your hand. This is beneficial for dozens of
reasons, but above all it's really cool to just sit back and be flying.
Shock and Awe
Once we were on the range, we "Fenced In", turning our weapons systems
on and Doogie began running through his training outline. I watched him

accomplish more training in 5 minutes, that I was capable of in 60. He was a
proficient expert, and a true master of his craft.
Is this where I'd be in 6 months? If so, I had a long way to go...
What happened next struck deep into my soul, sending chills down my
spine, spiking my adrenaline through the roof, and confirming the insane
pursuit of my dreams.
At about 2:35 in the afternoon, on a warm sunny spring afternoon in
southern Arizona, we had dropped 6 practice bombs, rifled off a dozen
simulated Maverick shots at targets, and were now at about 1500' above the
desert, screaming at 450 knots, in a uncomfortable 10 degrees nose low
dive toward the ground. I felt like my hair was on fire.
For those of you reading this that don't
have an aviation background, it's kinda
like this; Imagine yourself screaming
down a steep hill at 500MPH, with a tree
dead ahead in your path.
What the Hell were we doing?
Just as I asked myself that question, the
ground proximity warning started to go
off, and in almost the exact same nano
second Doogie squeezes the trigger activating the M61A1 Vulcan cannon,
which is a six-barrel 20mm gun capable of firing 6,000 rounds per minute,
that sat about 2 feet to my left in the back seat.

Just one second and 100 rounds later, we were in a 6G 30 degrees nose high
climb, 1500 feet from the strafe rag. This all took place 100' from impacting
the ground at 450+ knots and completely within acceptable regulations and
normal limits.
I am smiling right now as I write this report. That day I fell in love with
flying the Viper, and swore I would master my new weapon system to the
same level as Doogie.
6 Months later I was a Distinguished Graduate, and a somewhat capable
F-16 wingman, ready for my first assignment.
Over the next 5 years, I racked up nearly 1000 hrs
flying the Viper, earning my status as a Flight Lead,
Mission Commander, and Finally Instructor Pilot.
During that time I was stationed in New Mexico,
South Korea, and finally back to Arizona as an
Instructor Pilot, after years of traveling and long
deployments. It was time for me to give back, settle
down a bit, and teach brand new F-16 pilots the
basics of being a Fighter Pilot.
Crash and Burn
About 4 months into my third Viper assignment, which is pretty rare to get 3
F-16 assignments in a row, I started having a little pain in my lower back.
Now if you know Fighter Pilots, we are stereotyped as some of the most hard
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC

headed, abrasive, cocky, arrogant, know-it-alls that you may ever meet, and
we teach based off of Fear, Sarcasm, and Ridicule.
There's even a joke about
it, wanna know what it is?
OK...So what's the
difference between a
Fighter Pilot and God?
God doesn't think he's a
Fighter Pilot.
So you get my point now. That being said, we also refuse almost any
medical help, in fear that we will be grounded and unable to fly tomorrow.
It's so bad that we have flight doctors assigned to each flying squadron.
Their job is to gain our trust so we don't completely break ourselves.
I can remember the first conversation I had with my flight doc. It went
almost exactly something like this, " You know we never come in here unless
something is seriously wrong.....so.......I've got this pain in my lower back
on the left side and it's been there for a few days, and it's not getting better"
He knew something was not right if I was coming in for medical advice on
my back. That was the last week I worked out at the gym.
We tried steroids, Motrin, pain killers, etc over the next 2 months and
scheduled medical attention around my flying schedule. Probably not the
best idea as you'll soon see.

Over those weeks I could no longer run, the pain stayed longer, and it had
eventually reached the point where I had to stand for about 1-2 hours
before I could even consider sitting down to fly the jet.
Not Good.
On July 27th 2007, I took my last
flight in the F-16 from the back
seat, and would never return to
my dream job. You see, just a few
short minutes after touching town
on the runway, I felt a searing
pain shoot down my left leg. I
could hardly move.
All that supersonic maneuvering caused unbearable back pain, that took me
out of the game for good.
After about 987 hours of flight time, (near the 1000 hour milestone every
pilot guns for), I could barely get out of my cockpit. If the plane ever caught
on fire with me in this condition, I would burn alive…
In August 2007, after checking me out with an MRI, the first thing the docs
decided to do was inject my herniated disc with goo.
Let me tell you, not a pleasant experience. (You ladies who have had an
epidural can relate...
Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved Viper Consulting, LLC
30
Three times I was stabbed by a 4 inch needle and slowly injected with
"medicine".
It didn't work...
Next, it was off to surgery. The docs put me under the knife to relieve the
pressure. In the end, they told me I had an 85% chance of flying again.
During the recovery, I was soon bored stiff.
Fear of the Camera
After working 12 hours a day, sometimes 6 days a week doing something I
loved, there was only so much ESPN I could watch.
Not being able to sit, I could only stand, or lie in bed… and it was torture.
After developing an interest in Internet Marketing a few weeks before
surgery, I decided to give it a shot. Seemed harmless enough.
I had absolutely zero experience or training, and all the time in the world.
My one major hurdle wasn't how I was going to make money, I had plenty of
ideas of what to sell, how I was planning on doing it, but I just couldn't get
over 1 thing....
Fear, Sarcasm, and Ridicule...
Remember that whole fighter pilot deal? Yeah well, who wants to be the guy
walking into a 0445 am brief, and have the YouTube savvy students asking
about what I'm doing selling stuff on YouTube.
I had to find a way around it. While I was no expert, I got over my ego and
started filming, as well as creating simple and quick little screen recorded
videos and posted them everywhere on the net.

31
There was no turning back now.
To my surprise it worked. Here's a quick screen shot of my account in
December 2007 just 2-3 months after I started.
Pretty respectable, but nothing to live off of, plus this was just a part-time
effort, since I had already returned back to work. I was now hating life as
well!
I spent 3 days a week traveling to Doctor's offices, Physical Therapists,
Acupuncturists, and was making zero head way. When I wasn't on an
appointment run, I spent the remaining 2 days flying a desk, and found
myself spending hours awaiting emails, tracking mundane stats, and sitting
in meetings...all while under the influence of heavy narcotics to resolve the
pain that hadn't completely disappeared.
Life Changing Decision
In April of 2008 I had a big decision to make. With no help or motivation
from the Air Force, and little progress, I could truly pursue my Internet
Marketing career or Fly a desk, and live miserably until retirement.
I'm pretty sure you know my decision :)

I took leave, and attended my very first marketing seminar with my current
business partner Scott Twait. During the 2 day seminar, I learned and
networked my butt off, and met some amazing marketers that I still talk to,
JV with, and even have partnerships with today.
But most importantly, I got the attention of this guy.
If for some reason you don't know who the guy in
the Viking hat is, that's Frank Kern, the creator of
Mass Control. I showed up with a list of 302 people,
having made a few thousand online, but most
importantly was determined.
I wasn't hanging all over him during the entire weekend, but did ensure he
knew exactly who I was and what my plan in the upcoming months was. I
was just being Herschy.
When Frank announced his $2700 a month Platinum Mastermind Group, I
was hesitant. I had no idea if he could help me. I waited....
Then 5 minutes before the deadline, it hit me like a ton of bricks! It is totally
possible to crush it online, with Frank's help, even if he just doubled my
current business, and did nothing else, I would make out like a bandit.
I sat down and scrambled to to fill out my application before the deadline.
Good News a week later
Not many people know this...not even a lot of my fellow PMG members.

That afternoon I was sitting in my front row seat 10 feet from the podium,
and anxiously awaiting to see if I would be approved into Frank's Platinum
Group.
As he revealed the accepted application numbers, mine didn't come up.
I was relieved and crushed at the same time. No $2700 a month burden, but
I wasn't good enough to get in. It didn't ruin the event, we had a blast, and
went home that night.
A few days later I was on my way to Physical Therapy, and got a phone call.
It was Frank's assistant Jeryl. She was calling to tell me that they had billed
my credit card for the $2700 monthly PMG charge.
I asked her why, because I hadn't been accepted as far as I knew.
One of the original 20 people selected had their credit card declined. She
mentioned that she didn't know what I had done, but Frank asked her if I
had submitted an application, by name.
She said yes, and he told her to put me in the group.
How frigin cool is that? Frank Kern went out of his way to get me into his
group. I must have made an impression.
So how did this change and propel my business to a new level?
Here's a warrior Forum Post I made on the topic:

One Dream Ends… A New One Begins
After several months and countless hours doing everything I could to return
to flying, I was told I'd probably never fly the F-16 again. Even though the
news was devastating, I knew what was next. It was time to find a new
dream, something to apply my passion to.
That was exactly what I did. I put all my focus into video marketing starting
immediately. I decided to learn a new trick each month, and the results
snowballed from there…
My friends started asking me "How are you doing that?" So I started
showing them.
In no time flat… I got so many requests for help it was sucking away all my
time. So I started making videos to show them.
Next thing you know, I had enough videos for a full blown course. I started
marketing it in the spring (with video of course), and Quick Video Marketing
was born.
It wasn't a huge launch… hey we were still figuring that part out. But
between the course, a little consulting and some intro packages, the money
really started adding up!

Who else is using Video Marketing?
Pretty much everyone that wants to make money online in one way shape or
form.
Marketing Gurus Frank Kern, Ryan Deiss, Jeff Walker, and Matt Trainer all
use video marketing when launching their products. As matter of fact, Frank
Kern's recent Mass Control 2.0 launch contained a video only sales page.
Do you need anything fancy to make this happen?
No. Just take a look at these examples...a basic video review of the product,
or even a pre-launch opt in page tends to convert up to 2 or even 3 times
better when you add in video.
Ryan Deiss tested several different
versions of this page in his recent
launch as you can see below. In
the end, it appears he used 2
versions of this page. One with 1
video and a full sales letter, and a
second with a special offer that
had 2 videos at the very top of the
page. Ryan is amazing when it
comes to testing, and I follow his
marketing closely.

My buddy Matt Trainer is legendary for his squeeze pages that convert well
over 50% once he optimizes them. A simple or content laden video, with
some copy and a call to action is about all you need in today's market. Matt

is an under the radar ninja marketer, and just gives you tons of information
every time he releases a video.

And Take Bob Serling for example.
He spent about 90 seconds making
a video, didn't edit squat, and
tripled his sales.
